“We are all very proud of what has been achieved by all of our Year 12 students this year. These outstanding academic results are the product of their hard work and commitment to high achievement, and with the VCE process now complete our students eagerly await their tertiary offers so that they can build on the experiences of this year and look to their futures.

I would like to offer special congratulations to our Dux Danny Yang, who is a talented, hard-working and humble young man who has shone not only in his academic studies but in sport, music and leadership. I wish him well for the future.

It was also particularly pleasing to see six students with scores over 99 or the top 1% of the state. Congratulations to Danny, Michael Pan, Douglass Bell, Amy Pan, Lachlan Houen and Felicity Bisinella.

I would also like to congratulate the six students who achieved study scores of 50 this year, Year 11 students James Afford and Skye Ellis for Further Mathematics and Eddison Hang for Physics, and Year 12 students Joshua Newtown for Music Investigation, Danny Yang for Music Performance and Lachlan Houen for Theatre Studies” he concluded.

Dux of the College, Danny Yang was very excited receive his results this morning and is looking forward to beginning his tertiary studies with a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University.

“I could not be happier” Danny said.

“I have been hopeful all year, but I’m genuinely surprised by how well I ended up doing. The 50 for Music was unexpected but I’ve really enjoyed studying music this year. It’s always been a part of me and I’m just glad I was able to finish it on such a high. Next year I’m looking at a Bachelor of Science. Eventually I plan to do a Juris Doctor at Melbourne University but for my undergraduate study I want to explore my options and learn as much as I can that will hopefully be helpful for my future” he continued.

Dr Miller finished by offering congratulations to the whole cohort.

“Congratulations to our class of 2020 you have worked very hard and been guided by dedicated teachers to understand and achieve your best. Strong results provide the best opportunities for students, and we look forward to following the continued learning and exciting futures of all of the class of 2020.
