Ben attended The Geelong College from 1985 to 1993 and has been a Foundation Board member since August 2024.
Ben studied Medicine at Melbourne University before training in Orthopaedic Surgery. After further experience in Sydney and Edinburgh, he has been in surgical practice in the public and private hospital sectors of Geelong since 2010. He serves on a number of hospital advisory and quality committees and has maintained a commitment to the training of young surgeons, currently serving as the Deputy Chair of the Victorian Orthopaedic Training Committee.
Ben is married to Fiona Nelson (OGC 1995) and they are current College parents to Henry, Charlie and Lucy.
